On the inside the 2000T and the drēmər are the same bed: three spring systems, 2,258 springs, 55 centimetres tall, according to Hästens' own comparison table. The difference is the design. The 2000T is the classic bed in the Blue Check, from 1978; the drēmər of 2022 was designed by Ferris Rafauli, with its own headboard, fabric and legs in four colours.
Hästens writes that the drēmər is built with the same triple spring system as the 2000T, and the comparison table in the catalogue shows no difference: two layers of pocket springs in the middle mattress, Bonnell springs in the base, 2,258 springs, the same frame, the same filling of horsehair, cotton, wool and flax.
In other words: whoever lies on one knows how the other sleeps, provided you choose the same firmness and the same topper. Each comes in soft, medium, firm and extra firm. You feel that difference in firmness far more strongly than the difference in model.
The 2000T is the bed Jack Ryde presented in 1978, the first Hästens model in the Blue Check. You can have your own engraving added to its name plate.
The drēmər appeared in 2022, the year of the 170th anniversary, designed by Ferris Rafauli, who also drew the Grand Vividus. It has a curved headboard with padded velvet panels and side wings, legs of its own and four colourways: Black Shadow, Traditional Blue, Phantom Charcoal and Natural Shale. According to the catalogue, a personalised name plate is not available on the drēmər.
Choose the firmness and the topper first. That is the decision that determines how you sleep for the next fifteen years, and it is best made after a full night.
Then choose the design. Classic or contemporary, Blue Check or one of Rafauli's colours: that is a question about your bedroom and your taste. It is every bit as legitimate, but you answer it with your eyes, not your back.
Not according to Hästens' own specifications: the same spring system, the same number of springs, the same height and filling. With the same firmness and topper, you are lying on the same bed in a different design.
With Hästens, prices depend on model, size, legs and fabric and are quoted per configuration. Ask for both in the same configuration, headboard included, or you are comparing two different things.
