How it is made

Hästens writes that with the Vividus, time and cost played no part. One bed takes 45 days or 300 hours of work, and nine craftspeople work on it. A separate Vividus atelier has been set up in the Köping factory, where masters and apprentices work side by side.

The wood is knot-free pine and oak from Swedish forests, joined without screws. Throughout the bed Hästens uses fabric from the same roll, so the colour never varies. You can have your own engraving added to the name plate, just as with the 2000T.

A different category, not a bigger model

The Vividus is the point at which Hästens makes no more concessions, in material, in build time and in who makes the bed. The arithmetic between price and difference in comfort stops existing here.

That doesn't make it a senseless purchase. People often buy something because it is the furthest thing that exists, and that defends itself perfectly well without sleep arguments. It simply is no longer a rational decision, and it helps to say so out loud.

What a night here yields

Often the answer is no, and that is the most useful outcome there is: anyone who notices after a night that they can't feel the difference has saved, in one night, the price of a car.

And sometimes the answer is yes, and then you know exactly why. That is better than buying it because it is the most expensive. That is what people come to regret later.

Frequently asked questions

What does a Hästens Vividus cost?

According to Hästens' European list price of October 2026, a Vividus with its matching topper costs € 330,990 in every size up to 210 by 210 cm, and up to € 694,990 in the largest size of 305 by 305 cm. At SleepSpa the price is on request, per configuration.

Can I sleep-test the Vividus anywhere?

Yes, by special request. Our fixed suites hold the 2000T and the drēmər; we prepare the Vividus or Grand Vividus for anyone who asks in advance: half a day, a full day or a whole night.

Is the Vividus the most expensive bed in the world?

No. Since 2020 the Grand Vividus has been the most expensive bed you can order from Hästens and, by our reckoning, in the world. The Vividus sits directly below it.
